Dude, your assault on this guy is unwarranted. You're literally being a bully. This forum is so toxic for no good reason. It makes me sick because there is real talent here.

Context:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/team-xe...-tiny-motherboard-i-do-tiny-soldering.493580/

He advertised a service to install a mod that didn't yet exist. Also, there is a specific section for advertising. He's advertising his services again in this thread he is just not being as blatant about it. If he wants to post a tutorial, cool. But if he wants to sell his wares he should take this to the buy/sell/trade section.

He got nasty first. Don't hit if you don't want to get hit back. I'm done. I just wanted give him shit. Just as many others no doubt will. He is a big meme on this site. He should learn to be a little self deprecating.

A bad batch of MCUs? ... or did they forget to flash the arduino bootloader?
If you're asking that question you know more than me. All I know is this is exactly what we need. Something built to profile, custom done for the switch.

(So we can punch the folks who said there was 0 chance we could 'fit' a mod chip in the switch.)

I have chisel, conical, knife & radial. I just love the all around uses of conical (like tacking the usb pins), I use max heat and give a slight tap. I always felt like the chisel tip had more surface area and thus more heat, so I tend to use that tip for bigger case codes.
Rule of thumb is to use the lowest temp one can get the job done with. That will make the flux burn slower and the tip will last longer too. I find chisel much nicer since it heats up pads faster and allows to solder multiple small pads at the same time (fixing bridges is easy enough due to surface tension and if that fails there is always solder wick).

"very fun"
you have very sick idea of what fun is, masochistic actually
looks like the conventional soldering iron didn't do anything to remove the micro USB and that it was all hot air that got it off

plus all the REALLY "fun" parts were cut fromt he video
like trying to solder wires to where the micro USB connector was removed and soldering to the switch MB
hahahahahaha, I get a really good feeling when I make stuff work again. I solder all kinds of random shit, some of it involves trying to decipher schematics with no boardview and no labels on PCB components, so im following visible traces and writing everything down in a notepad. Its seriously fun for me :P Oh, and I added lead to the micro usb to drop its melting point, this is really easy to understand by looking to when I first try to wick the solder. Fun parts will come when I have enough money to afford a camera for the microscope
Tiny Soldering guy!

I think I did what you wanted lol

I got my Trinket M0 today! I ended up cutting off the top of the button since I didn't like the clicking. Works Great!

I wouldn't mind giving this a go but it's proving difficult to find a trinket within UK. Don't really want to pay lots of shipping for Mouser or whatever.

so you removed the button ao no more clicking if you press the back.

you removed the black button only or whole button
Only the black button. You can see in the pic I uploaded. I literally cut the little switch in half.

anyone having issues got mine of taobao
I do have issues sometimes. Sometimes it'll just freeze on the red SX screen. I double checked all the points, but maybe I'll have to check again.
Nvm, I'm dumb. Turns out you have to wait a few seconds after the Switch shuts down for it to work.
