I see for Not64/Wii64 there’s a compatibility list and there’s a part where the game gets stuck with the lens of truth and you can’t progress further, so I don’t really want to that route, unless someone can confirm that I can get past that part.

Then there’s Virtual Console or Nintendont which I’m thinking of going with either of them. If there’s a better way can someone please let me know. Thanks!

either nintendont or official vc release if you patch the channel to remove dark filter imo.

I have the injector ready but on WUP installer it says I need sigpacthes for eshop/dlc when I download to USB. When I through mochaCFW (which I’m assuming is the sigpatches), and then install MM to usb on Wupinstaller , it tells me there’s no usb. Then I try to install to band and it tells me there’s not enough system memory even though the file is only 54MB. have an SD card, but USB and sd work the same correct?

Best way to play... Sitting on a comfy seat with the lights out, snacks and juice ready within arms reach. Oh an N64 would help :ha: but since we're talking emulation, the vc with widescreen and dark filter patches are fine. My son played thru it no probs with that.

Wait 2 or 3 years for the Majora's Mask decompilation to be done and then for a Wii U version of the equivalent of Ship of Harkinian for Majora's Mask to be released.

no the usb or sd are not the same lol

on wiiu you cant install stuff to sd card only console nand or usb formatted by the wiiu itself, so you dont even have 54 mb on your wiiu internal storage(nand)? obviously you need sigpatches(hacked console cfw) to start anything that isnt official.

have you ever installed anything ever on your console? do you know how to use wup installer?

If you want to play it today then play it on a 3DS with the restoration patch applied. The 3DS game runs at 30FPS instead of 20 making it feel far nicer to play. If you're willing to wait a few years then as mentioned above, wait for the decompilation project to be completed and a PC port to be released.

The game runs either way with 30fps. Even without the restoration patch.

My preferred way to play this amazing game is Majora's Mask 3D, with this restoration patch, that reverts some of the unfortunate changes/bugs with the 3DS remake (such as bringing back magicless Zora swimming, and fixing Deku hopping across water), streamlines the gameplay, and adds button mappings to touch screen elements.

It's practically perfect - to the point that I wish something similar was done for OoT3D, especially the gameplay streamlining and button mapping.

Considering they're asking in the Wii U section and the possibilities of playing that they listed, I'm pretty sure the question is more specifically what's the best way to play the game on the Wii U.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
