I'm just curious about something here. Somebody recently posted a list of nintendo's top selling games for the past month. Brain Age was #1 on that list. Obviously this game is #1 because it's purchased specifically for Coldboot Haxchi. My question is this... If Nintendo knows that this DS game, as well as some other DS games, are used for hacking the Wii U, why hasn't Nintendo updated these games so that the exploit is patched/blocked? Is it not possible for Nintendo to "fix" these games, or is Nintendo just being lax on the issue here?

They moved to Switch and probably doesn't have a dedicated team for DS VC anymore, although the exploit was used while Switch wasn't in the market yet.

They went to the root of the exploit, and updated the browser, after all you can't install haxchi without that entry point, needless to say every attemp from Nintendo to patch the internet browser was fruitless.

Why patch those DS games when people would still have access to HBL through internet explorer?

Also the list is huge. It's not just one game. That's just the cheapest one. It would take a massive effort and a big team to patch them all and Nintendo isn't going to spend money on that.

Also, it's for HaxChi not cold boot HaxChi
Just HaxChi by itself.

Actually it's the same bug. The bug that allows for the exploit is not in the games but in the emulator that comes with the games. So it would be as hard to fix one of them as to fix them all.

That being said, like said earlier the reason this is not fixed is probably because Nintendo doesn't actually care enough anymore. Or in other words they would probably have to spend more money fixing the bug than they would realistically lose by not having it fixed.

But of course non of us are Nintendo so we might never know the true reason.
