No dice. You might want to look into compatibility with cheats in your next nds-bootstrap update. I'll PM you more info on my setup.
The wierd thing is I have over 200 ds games on my 3ds using twighlight. I have tested round about 30 using cheats and the cheats work on all of them. So I have zero Idea why cheats aren't working for you.

I read online that DeadSkullzJr.'s cheat database doesn't work. If it helps, I deleted all games but the ones I'm playing in that database, and kept only the cheats I would be using. Is that a problem?

Use the twighlight menu updater on page one of this thread to download cheats for your games. Thats what I did and haven't had any issues so far.

This fixed 2 of my games, but the one I really need cheats for still isn't working.
The game is LostMagic (US) [AM9E]. @Robz8 can you test this game and find out what the problem is? You too, @AmandaRose.

I remember some Pokémon and Mario Kart Cheats are not working (correctly).:)
(and maybe only on the DSi)
But it was maybe fixed with the last Database Build.

Thank you.:)

Thanks, as usual, @Robz8 !

I'm running TWLMenu++ 16.1 just using the flashcard, and it's only SMS games that have a problem. It behaves the same on my DSi and DS Lite.

I downgraded the flashcard to TWLMenu++ 16.0, and that fixed the issue. I played around a bit with the differences between 16.0 and 16.1, and I found that if I set up 16.1 (I verified the SMS games issue still existed), and then replaced the single file _nds/TWiLightMenu/dsimenu.srldr with the 16.0 version, the SMS issue is fixed. However, YSMenu support when B4DS is turned off is broken, which worked fine on 16.1 before I replaced that file - I get the error message "Error! Flashcard may not be supported. Flashcard name: DSTT DLDI(boyakkey ver.) Press B to return.".

I've got another make of flashcard on its way in the post. I'll see if get better SMS results with that. :-)

Thanks again for all your amazing work!

Just a quick update on the issue I was seeing (menu freezes on game launch) when starting Gamegear and SMS games, running TWLMenu++ 16.1 from a R4SDHC (R4iSDHC dot com card) flashcard. I've found that changing the TWLMenu++ refresh rate from 60hz fixes the issue, so now I have YSMenu support and SMS/GG games working. :-) Thanks again to @Robz8 !

The key combo is different, depending on your flashcard and kernel.

@Robz8 The codes just suddenly started working yesterday afternoon (EST). The only change I made was to use the Updater to install the latest release of nds-bootstrap, then switch to it in the game settings. This means 2 things: Firstly, that the 'latest' release available on the DS-Homebrew Github (linked to in the OP) isn't actually the latest, but the one at /RocketRobz/TwiLightMenu-update is newer. That, and that the latest nds-bootstrap nightly has broken cheat compatibility with LostMagic, can be drawn from this.

Edit: Also, it can be deduced that the version of nds-bootstrap hosted on DS-Homebrew also has broken cheat compatibility with most games, if not all.

Making a post here after being a long time user of your work gotta say I love the progress made since I last posted. However, I've been curious about a childhood game I used to play Surf's Up and noticed it was still in the testing queue. Is there a line for those games or is there anyway for me to get them working? I would play on an emulator but the original controls are so much better for touchscreen oriented games such as this one. If there is a way to get this game working as well as others in that list please let me know. Although I understand if not.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
