Show some fucking gameplay, I already know it's going to have pale and willowy wankers speaking in terrible poetry over slo-mo FMV, it's a final fantasy game

This just brings back horrible memory's of X-2 and dress spheres ,there's a reason that FFX took 3 years to make and X-2 only took 1 , this is probably going to be the same.

Or was this actually Square enixs' plan make a normal FF with X amount of gameplay and then just cut it in half to sell it twice

PS I miss the old "Squaresoft" releasing games that had 50 hours+ of gameplay.

Maybe it is time to switch over to something new. I played Tales of Vesperia for 180 hours and it definitely had a jrpg feel. I'm not looking forward to running in a corridor for 6 hours, but will probably push myself to do so as I've beaten all the non-online Final Fantasy I-XIII and most of the remakes.

I just hope it's combat system is improved.... a whole damn lot! And that the game isn't linear, I mean FF13 just wrecked everything interesting about a FF game besides the epic production values and voice acting (which I wasn't too fond of either in FF13).

Ugh. FF13.

God dammit Squeenix. As a great reviewer once said, just switch to making full, CGI movies! That's what you're clearly quite good at!

You don't need cutscenes to tell a story. You can set the scene, the emotion, the context, using just music! You don't need to do full-on CGI cutscenes. I wonder why FF13 took 3 bloody years. And even then it wasn't anything impressive.

FF started going downhill since 7. 'Nuff said.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
