Hacking Having a hard time understanding PS4 mods...Help?

Just bought a PS4 cause it was a good deal and I felt like it. I've had experience with CFW's regarding portable systems (DS, 3DS, PSP) but never home consoles. Looked through the forums, still a bit confused as to what extent the system can be modded. Can anyone explain to me the ins and outs of what the PS4 is capable of? Can it play ISOs? What firmware is necessary? Links to modding tutorials?
