Homebrew Is there posibility to launch DS games in 3DS mode?

I like to stream my 3DS using bootntr but I like playing DS games too. Legit on cart.
Can't using cfw streaming when it switches to DS mode. I have a feeling nobody has made a nds emulator for the 3ds.

You've got your facts wrong.

Wii doesn't play NGC games in Wii mode, but in its own NGC mode.

The same applies on the 3DS when playing DS games, it uses its own DS mode.

If you want to stream DS games from your 3DS, you'll need a physical capture card installed.
The 3DS's CPU just isn't strong enough to use a DS emulator properly.

You might need a ds capture card if you want to play game in DS mode.

there was some sort of project to output the ds to a tv, at least the ds instead of the 3ds. Nintendo had originally designed it to do just that, but it didn't look right or something. the points on the board apparently are still there, but it would require soldering. I don't remember what the project was called, but it has a github iirc.

From what non-definitive sources I can find, Nintendon’t is Wii/vWii native software, not confusing it with BC/MIOS which the Wii uses ’natively’/stock.

I think the supercard can at least make screenshots, but I do not remember for sure. there's a menu you can bring up while playing any game.

To be more precise:

• Katsukity closed shop likely because, in Japan, console modding without permission from official manufacturers was made illegal.
• Merki is the EU/UK distributer of Katsukity/Loopy 3DS capture cards. They don't make any capture cards of their own.
• Loopy is the USA 3DS capture card guy and he's the only active one making and selling new 3DS capture cards (that don't cost as much or annoying to soldier in). But they do get sold out pretty quickly, so if you want a new capture card from him, you'll need to keep an eye in the forum and order page. It's not that it was impossible. People could inject GBA roms for ages now. GBArunner2 is not what you think it is. It's not an emulator, but a hypervisor that runs GBA games on DS/DSi/3DS in DS mode. (Like Nintendon't for GC on Wii)

It doesn't run GBA games in 3DS mode, only DS mode. And the current issue for Flame060 is wanting to stream DS footage using BootNTR, but can't since BootNTR streaming only works in 3DS mode and the 3DS will always boot into DS mode when trying to run DS games, natively. There's also no proper DS emulator for 3DS because the 3DS's CPU is just not nearly powerful enough to work with.

I saw that back then, yes. But this only happened right after Japan made the new law regarding hardware modding which was likely a direct result of them filing for bankruptcy as they could no longer do business thanks to the new law.

KatsuKity never really made the 3DS capture cards afaik, just an installer. Same with a few other shops or install services in the USA, but never mention where they get the capture cards from.

He was making the boards, it was even written about here back in 2019.

Katsukeity (or Katsukity, depending on who you ask) was a well-known Japanese 3DS Capture Card maker. Supporting all models, as well as other systems (like the Wii U Gamepad and Switch), this means that soon it will be extremely difficult to obtain capture cards for systems other than the Old 3DS (which is supported by a separate maker, Loopy). While you can no longer buy them directly, a European redistributor, Merki, still has stock, but it will not last forever.
