Manhunt 2 PSP Alpha v0.01 Build Install Notes VITA/PSTV :

1 Loading Freeze FIX need Force high memory layout :
- Turn on Adrenalin and hold R to open the Recovery menu -> Advanced -> Advanced configuration -> Force high memory layout
(NFO, 6.61 Adrenaline 3 Changelog - Added option to force high memory layout. For 'The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion' Demo.)

2 Plugin Install VITA/PSTV FIX :
- Download the plugin 'manhuntunlock.prx' from Freakler.

(NFO, makes the ULET-00726 v0.01 prototype playable)
- Create a new folder 'seplugins' in ux0 : pspemu/seplugins.
- Copy the 'manhuntunlock.prx' into the 'seplugins' folder.
- Create a TXT file with the name GAME.TXT
- Insert the line 'ms0:/seplugins/manhuntunlock.prx 1' into GAME.TXT.
- Copy GAME.TXT in ux0 : pspemu/seplugins

3 Create ISO from Untouched Files FIX :
- Download UMDGen_v4.rar
- Use Add Existing Folder and Files into the right Browser
PSP_GAME (folder)
UMD_DATA.BIN (file)
- Use Dummy Search
- Save as ISO
- Copy the ISO into ux0 : pspemu/ISO

- create a new Memory Card PS2 in Slot 2 on your PS3
- open multiman go to File Manager
- copy the file ev_hdd0 -> savedata -> vmc -> Internal Memory Card.VM2, with USB to your PC
- rename .VM2 to .ps2 -> Internal Memory Card.ps2
- download Ps2_Save_Builder_0.8x.zip and open it
- use File than New
- Root/ID -> SUTRUPS -> go on the Symbol 'P', ok
- Add File over Browser -> Manhunt.psu
- save as .xps
- download mymc_2.6.g2.dist.7z
- start mymc-gui.exe and select Internal Memory Card.ps2
- use File -> Import -> xps
- close mymc and rename back the save file .ps2 to .VM2 and copy it back to ev_hdd0 -> savedata -> vmc
- copy .bin and .cue game image on the PS3 and start it

I am having the same issue on my vita my game freezes on the splash screen after the intro cutscene with the plugin and high memory layout but for now I’m playing it on my psp but hopefully there is a fix

Yeah this freeze is the copy protection from Rockstar, its just dont skip the splash screen. The plugin (crack) somehow dont work for Adrenalin.

The Alpha Build is insane, it has tons of differences, in Red Light there is the Dildo as Weapon. Also the Newspaper is there as a weapon. And all Shooting weapons has 3 Kills. I have speedrun it all night long now the game in and out.

I’ve played to CIA trap so far and it’s pretty sick I haven’t found the newspaper yet where is it located?

The newspaper is in Domestic Disturbance you can find it everywhere on the front doors, also the milk bottle or what it is. Domestic Disturbance is also alternate, you dont cut the fence with Pliers, instead you burn it with gas.
Domestic Disturbance has also the same Exit-Bug like the PS2 Beta copy, the Mission do not end on the Exit, on the PS2 Beta copy you have sometimes luck and it will end. Here you maybe need Level-Select or Debug Menu to exit the Mission. Debug Mode = L + SELECT. All other Missions was working.

The Dildo, Newspaper and Milk Bottle, was reported on the PS2 Beta copy, the data is still there for skins, but was not working.
Safe House has double names with Red Light and CIA Trap was level change name. In Safe House the Porn Film is missing, the 2 months later PS2 Beta copy has it.
In Altered State the shortcut is missing in the house and the crowbar is not in the church it has a hunter. In Ritual Cleansing you can not open with the crowbar the garage doors, only the real doors, so you have to take the gas and walk all over to the end.

I had make yesterday a full report of all differences online, but its only in german language...

YEAH !!! Manhunt 1 ALPHA PS2 released. dream come true. this was my biggest hope. Maybe it has all the lost maps from the unlock secrets. Oh my gosh. Get Orgasm.

Manhunt 1 PS2 ALPHA working with PAL PS2 system and FMCB over OPL convert bin2iso. YEAH
Game loading fine, but hang up on loading screen, it says insert Dongle in Slot 2. I have created fine SUTRUPS on MC2, but how to insert the cheat ? I am still to stupid to understand the dongle cheat ? Is it gameshark, xploder or so ? please help

I have to refresh myself on Manhunt 2 development lore. (I've never actually played it) I think the project started with Rockstar Vienna, then they closed and Rockstar London took over. I forget if development started from scratch or if development continued within the same engine.

Having that been said, does this alpha coincide with the Rockstar Vienna era?

I was not a developer on the game. I'd like to think I would have kept some dev builds, if I had been.

I checked Wikipedia, and it said that "It was developed by Rockstar London for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 2, Rockstar Leeds for the PlayStation Portable, and Rockstar Toronto for the Wii." Also, Rockstar Vienna reportedly received no credit for the game, despite working on it for two years. Ouch.

As for the timeline, I'm not sure how early in development the PSP build would have been started. If they started around the same time as Rockstar Vienna, the build would more resemble the original vision for the game. Is there a build date for the alpha?

Seems the PSP ALPHA build is the first one for PSP since it says v0.01, but for sure there are older builds for PS2. The Wii was maybe the latest version.

In May of 2006, Rockstar Vienna was closed, as per Wikipedia. If that is the build date, the PSP game must have had a short development span, since the final released at the end of October that same year.

If true, Rockstar Leeds' PSP version must have been started when the Rockstar London (final) PS2 version was around the mid-way point. (If I'm understanding things correctly)

EDIT: Specified "Rockstar Leeds" in the second paragraph to avoid confusion.

EDIT 2: Tweaked the same sentence a bonus time for added clarity.

I wasn't specific enough in my last post. I meant that, based on the alpha's build date, Rockstar Leeds started development of the PSP game around the mid-way point of Rockstar London's PS2 version. I'll edit my post above to avoid confusion.

It's surprising to me that the PSP game was completed in about nine months.

Is this copy working for you on Adrenalin ? Do you even play this game ?

I looked at some information on the Manhunt 2 alpha and it's pretty impressive for an "0.01" version. It seems like a significant chunk of the game is available, so the PSP version (by Rockstar Leeds) must have started development around the same time as the Rockstar London (final) version.

Still, it'd be interesting to know what Rockstar Vienna's original vision for the game was.

Problem only when use older Versions of Adrenalin, ms0:/ mount problem.
Adrenalin Changelog v7.0 :
- Fixed issue where plugins were loaded in recovery mode.
