Yeah, I'm just trying it out at the moment. If I knew how to I would work on the substories for the first game but unfortunately I have no idea how to edit that text

I cant understand some people, I appreciate the work of the person who translated its story mod but not releasing it for years then when he released leaving it not finished worst of all not even caring for sharing clues for someone who can end project is meaningless.

Running a diff between Aegehn's ISO and an unmodified ISO you can see that (outside the csv subtitles) only 32 files were touched. Since Kurohyou 2 follows an almost identical structure the answer should be somewhere in these files.

Also a heads up for the subtitle font renderer. Commas denote new line so when you want to represent an actual comma I've followed Aegehn's lead and used a reverse comma. Quotation marks also seem to screw with it so avoid whenever possible. I've been using parenthesis () which show up as asterisks as a substitute.

Thanks for the info! We're finding it difficult to make progress right now so I appreciate it!

I need help I playing the part of the game where you follow someone without being noticed but the game keeps freezing. Is there any way to prevent the frezzing or at least skip the section?

Yes you need the Japanese non patched game to pass it or download a save file uploaded here but character stats would change of course.

Soo....I just started playing Yakuza 0 and will be making my way...downtown. I just read about a fan translation of this PSP spin-off. It seems though that this translation hasn't been finished and they've stopped releasing updates. Since I don't really feel like scouring through 19 pages of comments to see, can anyone update me on what's going on and why it's no longer being worked on? Last update from what I've read was in 2018! Thanks.

The game is mostly playable from begining to end, just side-stories not translated and a few bugs. And the team doesn't have anymore time to update.

But there's a user who's trying to complete the substories translation.

BTW, is there a way to delete my post ? I'm new to this forums and couldn't find this option.

@AugmentedSmoke I think is trying to complete it.
At the moment we're still trying to figure stuff out. I have a group of more technically minded people helping me right now, I'm mainly just doing the translations.

We're going to be working on the main story for the second game first, we're making steady progress so far but if no one else has done it by the time we're finished I am very likely to go back and do the substories from the first game afterwards.

We'll just have to wait and see how it goes. If anyone has experience with this kind of thing please message me, I'd very much like to hear from you. Thanks!

When you say "steady progress" how much time do you guess it will take, for example can you release in 2021?

Definitely not at a stage where we can promise anything. Atm we have a significant amount of cutscenes translated (they don't show up correctly due to the font not being designed for English) and we've just started translating the items and the in game dialogue but there are a vast amount of technical issues and limitations to overcome so no ETA yet.

If the project continues going well then I'll make a thread about it at a later date.

Would it be possible to make it to where, once the cutscenes and in-game dialogue is translated to release a patch then? Because while it is nice to be able to read the items and know what they are, some of us who've played all the mainline games wouldn't have as hard of a time with the game as others would. I have always been curious about both of these games, but it seems like anything that's a spin-off not made after Yakuza 0's success has no chance of making it over here atm. *stares at Ishin!*

Honestly since everything is being worked on at once, I think we'll be comfortable releasing it once the story is finished because the main items and styles will likely be done. That being said, I can't promise anything at this stage.

Story content is going well right now, we have dialogue working in game well in a way that is easy to edit and cutscenes should be working in English any day now (technically we already have them working but they're not looking great and it's more of a workaround).

We'll have more info on release schedules once we have done the initial story work which is likely to take at minimum another few weeks currently. I don't wanna hijack this thread though so if you have any questions about the project in the meantime, feel free to send me a PM about it, thanks!
