Hacking [List] Games required Firmware version

Considering getting the Mario & Rabbids bundle and the game is for under 2.3, but any way to know what FW version each bundle comes preinstalled with?

Yes, look at serial numbers topic. There you could guess firmware based on serial from the pack. There are some differences like in Mario Oddysey where number is lower but firmware is higher.
You have download code in bundle so to download you would need to update to newest version.

That might be the case, but as the revision 001 cartridge comes with DLC1 it means you get game version 1.3.1 which in turn requires 3.0.1

As far as I know there is only 1 revision of that game on cartridge and that requires 2.1.0 so you should be save.

I think the bundle has the game as a cartridge, not digital, at least the one I've seen, as there's no mention of having to download it or anything... Will have to ask at the store I guess. Will check the serials topic and everything regardless though...

It does... there was a brief period where you could download it. But then it got patched (Master Trails glitch)

How would you download dlc without updating?

There was a small period that it was possible to download.

Some games come with the update on the cartridge. When this is in the post then it is confirmed. For Mario & Rabbids -> the Eshop games and updates need the newest version.

Yeah we know that Xenoblade 2 needs 3.0.2 to play. It is also in the list.

Can someone confirm info about US versions of Lost Sphear? There seems to be a european version that works on 3.0.2 (see post #332) but the OP has it as a 4.0 game

This is difficult. Lost Sphear from the E-shop is what I tested and really needs 4.0 to be able to play. But this was at the time I bought it... most E-shop titles need the latest firmware. However I do not own the game on cartridge.

Just bought today Super Bomberman R and Rayman Legends, both end with 000 on the cartridge and they both work on a 3.0.0 as expected.

Sonic Forces requires 3.0.0 or requires 3.0.0 and has the 3.0.0 firmware on the cartridge similar to Pokken?

I believe the update is not in the cart... I had this game for a brief time.... It was no good though.

I just got a new PAL switch on 3.0.2 firmware. When I put Super Mario Odyssey in its asking to update. But from the info in OP SMO has 3.0.1 on it, so why is the switch asking to update to a lower firmware?

Check the back of the cart. If serial number end with 001 you have new kart that needs update. Don't!

the cart says 000 so I know thats ok, but why is it asking to update when im already on a higher firmware?

Power off your switch and start it in maintenance mode to clear any possibly pending updates.
Also please post a picture of the backside of the cartridge with the letters visible (tricky).

Did you mean to quote my post? In that case i dont get what I did wrong.
Its strange for him to have a 000 cart and to get a update dialog. The maintenance mode to clear any updates and then a picture from the cart are reasonable to rule out any mistakes, no?
Even if he had a 001 cartridge it would run on 3.0.2
