there is no way to play Wii U games from the SD card?

If you want to get reeeeaaaaly technical, yes, but:

so....yeah...but no.

As for loadiine, I use it for other games (DS games, mostly); it can also be used to set custom screen sizes, in some cases.

there is a way but loadiine just isnt worth it, you get hell of alot slower games to load and compatibility issues, some games might take minutes to load while installed take seconds and so on.

I see, thanks for the info! The problem is that I can only like install 1-2 games on the Wii U internal drive so it's a bit annoying. I have an external usb drive with two usb cables (Y cable i think its called) but when I try to install to it with the WUP Installer GX2 it barely moves at all. It seems like it would take over a day if not more to install just one game. Is that normal? Installing to the Wii U internal drive is very fast in comparison.

No, that is not normal. Which games are you trying to install? Also, You ARE trying to install to an external HDD right, not a USB Storage device? The term "USB Drive" always confuses me...

Tried to install Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze but it seems like it's with any game. Yep, using a proper external drive with Y cable both cables connected since I understand the Wii U needs the extra juice and cannot run the drive with just one cable connected. I wonder what could be causing such slow installs then :/ Hmm

Good, yes, the HDD not getting enough power could have been the problem, but so far so good. Have you installed any other games to the HDD or is this the first?

If this is the first game you are installing to an external HDD and you are using the Channel version of WUP Installer GX2, you will need to move the app over to the External hdd itself, since a bug prevents the Installer from installing games to an External HDD if it is not on the same drive.

You can do so using the Management system under Wii U Settings.

EDIT: For clarification, there are two versions of WUP installer GX2, the regular HomeBrew version, launched through the HomeBrew Launcher, and an installable version which installs as a Channel on the Wii U.

The games... loaded.

The temporal solution was to indicate specifically where to boot. But when it booted the game (minecraft) it froze on the intro logo screen

To load minecraft with mii maker, when you start up your wii u choose a user with no nintendo network id registered. At least it's what i found and did and it worked.

I can help you with Project Zero. Just got the upload the data.

Can we make a thread about the xml files? It seems to be a problem, especially for games without updates.
--------------
Greetings, Bimmel. Do you still have the meta folder for Project Zero? If yes, could I have it, please ? :) Thankyou !

Hey there! Is there a certain reason why you still use Loadiine? It's really a pain compared to the brasilian USB method.

I'm not sure if I still have the data.

I'm sorry, I don't want to kill cat babys. : (

Please enlighten me.
It's just about the term. There is nothing about any "brazilian method". What you do is installing the original, untouched, unmodified files using the original installing functions (just called by the WUPInstaller instead of the OS itself).

Oh, I see. Thank for the info! :-)

Nothing against Loadiine by the way. I played through Twilight Princess HD with this awesome tool and it was so much fun!

But it can't cross region, right? Or wrong? XD
I tried the method using uTikDownloader, but when it asked for ticket, I answered the link but it still asking the same question

@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
