Hacking Mario Golf VC Hacking

has anyone found a way or know of a possible way to hack/patch the Mario Golf VC title to enable the character slots previously only available through gbc transfer pack?

if anyone knows of a patch or diff file for this (I'm assuming you'd patch the wad via the rom inside it, or maybe the save?) please direct me thataway.

if there was an action replay code for this...not sure if there is....I'd assume you could manually hexedit it in?

Well, that would definitely be located in the save file. You could try to compare save files between a standard save file, a standard save file with the characters unlocked, and a raw save file from the virtual console. Using a hex editor, you can compare the bytes to find what you're looking for.
