Maybe the updater in Nintendont is broken. I haven't used it in a while so i don't know. But if you check out the first post in this thread you will see instructions on how to install Nintendont. Just follow that to get the latest version. https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/#Setup
thanks!
It seems that if i want to update it, I only have to download the loader.dol , rename it to boot.dol and overwrite the previous boot.dol file. My current Nintendont version it 6.496, which is the latest one?

Last question: as i have to update WiiFlow too, is it better to previously update Wiiflow (my current version is 5.4.9) to the latest version (5.5.4)? And later update Nintendont?

thank you

I haven't used WiiFlow so I can't give you any advice there. But the latest version of Nintendont with USB Loader GX has been working great for me.

hi, i have updated both Nintendont and Wii Flow Lite to their latest version and they work properly.
Well, this is my current Nintendont settings:
https://i.postimg.cc/zDxSMdyT/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-26-at-22-46-15.jpg

here Nintendont settings on WiiFlow:
https://i.postimg.cc/L4QLvnWT/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-26-at-22-46-17.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/pdBnjT8K/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-26-at-22-46-17-1.jpg

and here the WiiFlow settings:

https://i.postimg.cc/9z3fK5ZW/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-26-at-22-46-18.jpg

What do you suggest to modify in order to have the best graphic on Gamecube? FOr example if I want to play with 480p mode is it better to activate the 480p Pixel patch? Or what do you suggest?
And is it necessary to TURN ON the Memcard emulation option on Nintendont even if i have already activated that option in WiiFlow (Nintendont Emu Memcard = ON)?

thanks!

i think wiiflow settings override nintendont settings but im not sure so yeah to get best picture you use ntsc roms, use force video to ntsc(to remove deflicker) and force progressive if the games does not have native progressive already, but do remenber every forced settings is an hack and some games dont like being forced while others are ok with it.

also you need memory card emulation on wiiu or you cant save.

thanks, yes i think that it is only necessary to set WiiFlow settings as they overwrite the Nintendont's ones.

Currently i have PAL games when it is supported 60hz mode and NTSC games where the PAL version doesn't support 60hz mode.
So, is it is better to set graphic settings for each game? Seting NTSC mode for USA games and leaving the default value for PAL games? Is it also necessary to set widesceen option or any other option to set 480p? I currently have a vWii set up too, that force automatically every Wii game at 480p:
But some games are not on 4:3 format so if i use that set up, i have to choose Wii U Widescreen = ON in order to have a correct 4:3 screen...it is quite strange...

Probably if i want to play in a really better way N64 and Wii/Wii U games, i have to buy mClassic scaler (with or without the 4K gamer pro)...

For PAL games try force PAL60 480p for those games that have a 50/60hz selector and thus they will run in progressive. and without deflicker.

Those that are 50hz may not work this way, you can try forcing them in PAL60 (480i interlaced) and if they don't work set them as default or get the NTSC game.

Regarding the widescreen hack, I had problems with some games such as random crashes with the Prince of Persia trilogy or some Harry Potter games. I recommend not activating the option and looking for a widescreen cheatcodes for that games, there are many of them on gcforever forum in both regions.

thanks! ok, i don't have any PAL games at 50hz, so it is not important how to improve them.

1) PAL games with 50/60hz selector: i choose PAL60 480p hack and in any case i choose 60hz at the pop up screen and i choose Progressive scan if requested, of course. I don't know if it is better to run them with "standard" vWii channel or with the modified 480p one i posted in my previous post...

2) NTSC games: i don't modify any default option

Widescreen hack: i'm looking for any hack on that webste, thank you, i asked if and which games can be played in widescreen ad how to activate cheats in Nintendont

An important note.

There is a bug related to the delficker filter and in PAL games with a selector and that is that if you choose 60hz in the selector, the filter is reactivated despite having it set to off in the settings. Therefore you have to choose 50hz in the selector and then the filter will stay off. This will not cause games to run at 50hz because Nintendont will prioritize the previously set settings before loading a game so don't worry about it.

To activate cheats-> Ocarina: Yes.
The cheatscodes can be gct or txt, I usually use gct, this website converts them into that format https://mkwii.com/gct/

ah! thanks! so i will always choose 50hz, but is it sure that Nintendont force them to run at 60Hz by default? Or do you mean that i have to activate for this games the PAL 60Hz 480p option previoulsy?

Cheats: ok, Ocarina means "Activate cheats", i dind't know that!
I will wait an answer from the other forum where to download the cheats. I tried to download cheats from the website you linked me, but even if i type several ID titile and i push DOWNLOAD GCT, it appeaer an error message: "no codes added".... how does it work?
thank you!

Anyone know how to put your Gamecube isos on usb wii-formatted hdd? I recently got 1 backup to test and Gamecube backup manager but couldn't see the hdd on my pc. I was reading online and they say PC can never detect the usb wii hdd? I got greedy at the end used diskpart made primary partition and assigned a drive letter but ended up having to format the hdd when re-connecting to the wii u. Fortunately, only a few games were on there. Saw some old posts from 10 years ago where people were successful but had broken links.. Thanks

I was referring to establishing Force PAL60 490p as a global option in the loader settings for games that have a selector except for those that are PAL50. For these you can configure them individually without any established settings and this way you will not have to deactivate the force pal 480p option every time you want to play one stuck at 50hz. I don't know if Wii Flow can create various custom settings for individual games, in USB Loader GX it can.

And about the cheats, when you finish adding the cheats you must click on the green tab where it says "add cheat" so that it is added in the left column and you can download it.

How large is your hard drive? A drive formatted for the purposes of using it in a real Wii or vWii (the Wii U's Wii mode) should be able to be read by both the Wii and a PC. Unless you followed an old guide that had you format your drive as WBFS (which is not recommended anymore anyways). So first thing is make sure that your drive is formatted as FAT32 with either 32k or 64k cluster size (larger drives can only do 64k). Now if you are using this drive in a Wii U, it will always nag you saying that it needs to be reformatted into the Wii U's format (which you don't want to do so make sure you hit no). There are ways around this by using a program called UStealth which will hide the drive from the Wii U and no longer get that message (but your PC will no longer be able to read it either unless you use Ustealth to unhide it). After that, all you should have to do is drag and drop your Gamecube ISOs onto your drive in the proper locations (check out the very first post for examples). Let me know if you are still having troubles and I can try and walk you through everything the next time both of us are free. Best of luck to you.

The website wiiu.guide has a lot of good information on it too that may help you.

In WiiFlow settings --> Gamecube Default Settings --> Video mode = 60Hz, in this way all my PAL games with 60/50 hz selector will run correctly without flickering it i choose 50Hz mode
https://i.postimg.cc/HxFFvPZb/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-29-at-21-09-11.jpg

The deflickering option, even if activated, doesn't work as it is bugged: https://i.postimg.cc/XYDLgBDC/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-29-at-21-09-10.jpg so i have to use this workaround.

1) And this have effect on Gamecube games only. Is this deflickering issue present into Wii PAL games too with 50/60 hz selector?

2) Currently i don't have any PAL game witout 50/60 hz selector: but if i have one, i have to set them individually, setting Vide mode = Game (instead of Default): in this way, the game will run at 50Hz natively, without forcing it at 60Hz, is that correct?

3) i didn't notice that i can directly download cheats code from WiiFlow!!! I downloaded tons of them! If i want to activate them i have to set the Cheats = ON, then APPLY:
https://i.postimg.cc/wjcy6CDT/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-29-at-21-09-09.jpg

and then it is necessary too to set Ocarina = ON
https://i.postimg.cc/wjcy6CDT/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-29-at-21-09-09.jpg

Is it correct?

4) What is the PatchPAL50 option?
https://i.postimg.cc/rwCgtyvB/Whats-App-Image-2023-10-29-at-21-09-09-1.jpg

thank you very much for all your help!

What type of errors do you get? The configuration is correct so it should not cause errors.

1- No, only in GC. For Wii games the deflicker option works well, I usually have it set to "experimental" or "off (safe)".

2- Yes, that's right.

3- Yep, but I don't know if the widescreen cheats for GC games are in the database where they are downloaded, that's why I mentioned that forum.

There should be a folder like "codes", gct files is placed there.
It all depends on how you have the folder paths so that the loader can read them.

do recall that not every cheatcode works on nintendont since adresses are different from gc or dolphin.
Wiird codes usually work well with Nintendont, AR codes do not.

thanks, yet i placed the file in this path: F:\wiiflow\codes\gct. But entering into the Game settings, into the Cheats Codes section, there is any code...the .gct file i have placed isn't available...it seems that WiiFlow doens't detect that folder..?

There isn't any option to set the cheats codes path...
Here my current configuration:
https://i.postimg.cc/dQrt2DFV/cheats.png

and here i put the file:
https://i.postimg.cc/029x7fZV/cheats2.png
But as i said it isn't detected... i don't know why...
So i manually created a .txt file, in this way:
https://i.postimg.cc/x16bw56C/cheats3.png

and now it is detected in the WiiFlow menu. I have activated it (ON), pushed Apply and Ocarina = ON. But the cheat doesn't work...the game is still in 4.3 format... I don't know if this cheat doesn't work on WiiFlow...

In any case, i discovered that if i want to play GC games in widescreen format, i have to set Nintendont WiiU Widescreen = ON in the wiiflow general settings: in this ways, all the games that natively support 16:9 (like Super Mario Sunshine), will be automatically shown in widescreen format. For those games (like Soul Calibur II) that don't support it, it is possible to manually forse it, entering into the specific game setting and set Wii U Widescreen = ON. It seems that this configuration properly work :)
