PlayStation acquires eSports platform Repeat.gg
PlayStation is further expanding its foothold in the eSports market with the acquisition of Repeat.gg, an eSports technology platform. Repeat.gg has hosted more than 100,000 leaderboard tournaments that aim at making eSports more accessible.
"Together with the talented Repeat.gg team, we're excited to explore more ways for players to engage in competitive gaming and expand the breadth of our esports offerings," said Steven Roberts, vice president of global competitive gaming at Sony Interactive Entertainment. "This is just the start of our journey and we look forward to sharing more updates with our community in the future."
While Repeat.gg is now part of the PlayStation family, it has specified that it will feature games on other platforms as well, including mobile, PC and other consoles.
