Guys, I want to share with you what I accomplished today and so far very satisfied.

1. You need 2 speakers and woofer from MacBook Pro 13 2010 (other model may feet as well)

After research I can confirm that any speakers with 4-8 ohm resistance will work.
So basically everything what can fit inside with mentioned above resistance will work.

2. Solder everything as it shown on the pictures (left side, counting from top +/-, right side mirroring -/+)

3. Don't expect miracle from default PSV default audio amplifier.
I did my research installing custom audio amplifier

8dcf4092a0227550305cfbdf2e2688fb.jpg

And that was something!!! Power of sound stronger minimum 2 times and the quality much higher. But not easy to DIY for everyone

649c80468b5826e1da8c844b1dfecab2.jpg

But still possible!!

If you are interested?? - I can explain How-To

Best possible way with original audio amplifier

e28aa28b299deebcf1ed1bb2ec60cb23.jpg

But this will be MONO, cause to connect WOOFER without separate channel you need to take "-" from one channel and "+" from other one. Witch will close the loop and cancel STEREO affect.

But if you remove one MacBooks speaker and connect woofer instead you will have stereo affect.
In this case it will look for example:

Left side original PSV speaker + MacBooks speaker

Right side original PSV speaker + MacBooks Woofer

Follow pictures and enjoy

Yeah but then we will have to remove the headphone jack :rofl2:
Seriously though, the iPhone 7 has 2 speakers placed in 2 different locations. It's more complex then you think it is.

I'm not an electrical engineer, but this seems simple enough. Though I would like a bit more info about the custom amplifier you used to replace the stock one. I haven't been able to track down the THD0188N amp you used, but any PAM8403 board should work right?

Check this ;)
Just completed portable audio amplifier based on PAM8403 with micro USB power port, Double RCA female (left and right channels) and mini jack 3.5 female input, inside old video tape transparent box.
2 a.m. at night. Project completed.
Sound is great ;)

Hello, first of all congratualions, this is incredible work ! I was wondering, could you make a youtube video about every step to do it ? It would greatly help people like me ! The sound of the og vita is my only gripe with it so that would be awesome !

Also, is it compatible with the 3g version ? And do i have to drill things on the back plate or can we exploit the front holes ? And finally do i need to use different amplifier to get stereo if i use lets say psvita 2000 speaker or a phone speaker or does it only apply to macbook speakers ?

thank you very much, i've been looking for something like this since years

Thank you for such great feedback and interest.
Any small cellphone or laptop speakers can be used.
Native amplifier is to weak. Extra would be good, but take to consideration digital noise, filters should be applied.
Rear holes is not mandatory and front ones can be used, if we completely remove original ones.
Wifi or 3G version no difference in our case, there is some empty spaces inside that can be utilized.

I'm picking up a PAM myself for a project, it's easier than using twin LM opamps. Question, have you figured out or can you source a 5V model? All I keep finding are 12V ones and I don't want to add the unnecessary bulk of an extra boost converter.

Top kek, nevermind, as I posted this I found a listing for the 5V model. Herp derp, I have no idea how it eluded me for so long.

Yep bro, check this solder via physical button directly to battery otherwise you will get 50 Hz noise which can be eliminated with filters.

It's powered via a filtered and regulated PSU, so there shouldn't be any noise, but thanks for the tip. ;)

There is noise, believe me, it's tested already)))
Anyway, you are welcome.
To remove noise take input from jack.

You might want to build a shroud around the second fan, otherwise you're not fully benefitting from the centrifuge effect. If you don't have thin alu, cans or epoxy putty are good substitutes. You could also connect both fans to PWM, either directly or via a TIP120/a MOSFET.
