Would anyone recommend that we jump form A9LH to Boot9Straps now? Or should I wait a week or so for the process to be polished?
there are no risk of installing sighax, but its a necesary update if you need a future version of luma, godmode9

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What does sighax have over a9lh
with sighax you can use the future updates of luma and other firm payloads

i think yes because sishax is installed in bootrom and bootrom can"t be formatted because if you format bootrom you will brick xD
SigHax is installed in the FIRM partition, not BootROM (which is read-only).

Either way, "System Format" on 3DS doesn't actually format the NAND. It merely wipes user data.

If it did format the NAND, you'd need some way to reinstall the 3DS operating system.

Quick question guys but can I do the steps here https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap via FTP? feeling pretty lazy to open up my n3ds xl and take out the sd card. Also if I already have A9lh do I really need the luma boot file?
FTP works for transferring the files. (That's what I did.)

You do need the Luma3DS v7.1 boot.firm. Boot9Strap won't load files in the arm9loaderhax.bin format. Similarly, Luma3DS's payload chaining now requires FIRM format, so you'll need to update your payloads. (GodMode9 is updated; not sure about anything else.)
