You didn't set the environmental variable. The second step under Mac must be done on Linux too.

  1. Add the following to your login script:

export PS3DEV=/usr/local/ps3dev
export PSL1GHT=$PS3DEV

export PATH=$PATH:$PS3DEV/bin
export PATH=$PATH:$PS3DEV/ppu/bin
export PATH=$PATH:$PS3DEV/spu/bin

Yes, but the first line should be /opt/ps3dev not sure why yours is different unless they changed the location. You can either copy each line in the terminal or put all that in the .bashrc.

Yes, try the ./toolchain.sh again . You may need to do sudo chmod +x toolchain.sh first. That's if you get another permissions error.
