The running stages reminded me of Sonic Dash which you'd just swipe to which direction you'd want him, and in SD it looked like Sonic had more freedom to move with liberty than in this game.

Hopefully this game gets the gameplay gets a lot better. Not really liking what the video above is showing.

By the way, it'd be great if Sega/Nintendo released more DLC for Sonic Lost World.

This game looks terrible. Nothing has improved from past games. And from some footage looks worse than what Colours did back in 2010. When will sega learn that sonic is not and shouldn't be a 3D game. The Episode games were great. Sega, make more of those games. Just because it has *hyperblasting 3D graphics*, doesn't mean its a well made game.

Yeah I heard generations was meant to be pretty good. But the good part was predominately the side scrolling section. I've never seen it cheap enough to buy it. (Anything more than $10 for a sonic game I consider expensive lol)

To be fair to Sega they aren't making this game They're just publishing it. Big Red Button are developing this one.

I want a new Sonic Adventure, not just sonic level games.

SLW had some Adventure-ish to it but thankfully it kept most of that franchise (which had two games) to bare minimum.

The only ones who still praise the Adventure games are nostalgic fans that can't see there's better games out there.

it is possible for them to make a good 3d sonic game generations was on the right track...than they went off road with this garbage :glare:

Generations was a spectacular Sonic game but the problem with it is that it relied too heavily on always boosting and it didn't really allow to actually enjoy the stages themselves like they've done in SLW.

While SLW is more of a traditional platformer than a Sonic game they somewhat balanced the two, but I hate the wisps and some of them I have no idea how to use.

What do you mean better games out there. Sonic Adventure was almost a RPG. What other sonic games are like that? There was story, multiple characters, puzzles, lots of different mechanics. The chao's were awesome, I'd carry them around on my VMU everywhere. Sonic Adventure is really the only Sonic game that I ever enjoyed, or really ever played seriously.

SA1 to me was better than SA2 but it wasn't without its flaws.

In SA1 I'd keep falling off the stages through the walls but aside this, the gameplay, music and voice acting was far better than in SA2.

The only thing I liked about SA2 were the Sonic and Shadow stages because everything else was awful.

Here's a more recent view on the gameplay from VGS: http://www.vgstations.com/en/news/i...as-the-worst-sonic-game-i-ve-ever-played.html

Watching the video was torturous to me. I've been playing Sonic games since the first one on Sega Genesis(!). Didn't love Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 (Battle), couldn't finish Sonic Heroes, never touched the spin-offs and weird games (Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Unleashed), was disgusted by Sonic and the Secret Rings, partially enjoyed Sonic Colors, and loved Sonic Generations.

I was hopeful towards Sonic Lost World, but it left a hard wound that will heal only after a very long time. It seems like trying Sonic Boom would be even worse. Just why can't they make another Generations? I'm bummed that didn't even get proper DLC, only some Casino Night pinball crap... :(

Damn dude, I can't believe they used that cheesy SA2 lame song for the Sonic Boom gameplay but I just muted it and watched it while listening to MK8's soundtrack, so back to Sonic Boom's gameplay.. I gotta confess that what I saw, I kinda liked it.

I saw IGN's gameplay video of Sonic Boom and totally hated it but here it's not the case. I'm willing to give it a chance.

By the way, Sonic Lost World isn't your typical Sonic game, it's more of a take on traditional platforming and the game definitely requires you to know how it works properly so you can have the most fun out of it. It's not hard to learn, but since the game doesn't do a good job of doing so it takes time.

I really, really, really hate it when someone has a set mindset of what a Sonic game should be like. I happen to like the 2D-like Sonic games more (Sonic Colors and Generations are good examples of doing it in a way that I like). I also love platformers in general, and I'm now in the middle of a 100% run of SM3DW. Sonic Lost World however was VERY lacking in presentation. I never felt like the Deadly Six were supposed to be part of the story and I grew to hate the headache-inducing 3D level design of the game. It reminds me of the cancelled Sonic Xtreme project, which may actually have been the inspiration for Lost World. The game also felt really slow such that getting to the end of a level was really dragging me and for the most part I felt it was boring (I really had to push myself to play the first 6 levels before I gave up entirely). I don't care that it's Sonic. I find it's a bad platformer, period.

That said, Sonic Boom thankfully takes a VERY different route in game design and mechanics. What I've seen isn't to my liking though, so I'll skip this Sonic game as well. Don't want to be burned by yet another boring game. I don't know how Nintendo did it, but Sega needs to take notes from them. Super Mario 3D World is every bit as fun as a platformer as I remember the original 1985 game on the NES to have been. I can't say the same for Sonic games, which I understand may not be where Sega wants to go with the series. Sonic Colors and Generations were the gems of the previous console generation in regard to Sonic games if you ask me. I'm hoping there's going to be more of that. Sonic Team already teased us that they're working on a new Sonic game separately from Big Red Button who is making Sonic Boom. So, I'm keeping my eyes open.

Curious how you made that conclusion when this plays nothing like the "past games".

And from some footage looks worse than what Colours did back in 201o

Implying that Colors is bad.

The Episode games were great.

Just plain what.
