Bro, you need to chill. I don't agree with Hanafuda politically...

Not many people do lol.

I am certainly not aligned with either major party. I'm still a registered Democrat but WTF has happened to them since 2000??? Despite the assumptions of some here, I'm not a MAGA believer either, but I was also awake enough to see from 2017-2020 (until Covid happened) that "in the big picture" things were going well in the USA. Not the fascist living hell some people like to claim it was ... (they only remember it that way because they suffered at seeing the 'normies' doing well). I guess for some people it's only "progress" if the collapse of the USA is being accelerated. You know, cuz it's an evil empire built on stolen land, and all that shit. *snore*

I will not be voting FOR anyone this fall. But I will be voting AGAINST this President. I've known him to be a plagiarizing, slick, pure politician on the take for over 45 years ... from when I was first old enough to notice politics. How many of you are even aware that Joe Biden had to quit the Presidential race in 1988 because of multiple acts of plagiarism being exposed??

The Trump admin did nothing positive for the average American, it was just four years of licking corporate boot while riding high on the foundations built by the previous administration. Not to mention how much he emboldened fascists in policing and border policy. Then when people actually needed competent governance to reassure them during the pandemic, it was nowhere to be found.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't think you have one fucking clue what an "average American" even is, or if you do it's only due to your hatred for them.

Whether they shop at Wal-Mart or Costco, everybody saw prices go up during the Trump administration thanks to his fucking moronic tariffs on Chinese goods, which included chips from Taiwan. Corporations got comfortable with raising prices and lowering quality/quantity throughout the pandemic, and they kept on doing it afterward. Greed and fraud thrived under the Trump administration, nothing else.

Jobs went down under Trump and the US had a very disproportionate covid death rate compared to most countries.

In contrast, the number of H1N1 deaths under the Obama administration were proportional to the population.

If the insane number of deaths which occurred in red states during the pandemic wasn't enough to demonstrate that Trump doesn't give a fuck about his own supporters, the zero pardons he issued for January 6th certainly should've been. If you're not willing to take unlimited amounts of abuse from a malignant narcissist, you aren't welcome in today's Republican party. Masochists only.

Trump's administration was very much one of chaos and aggression, usually at the working class's detriment. Trump worked to erase the Obama Administration's impact with more aggression than usual, and made hasty decisions without considering long-term impacts.
I'm hardly a fan of Joe Biden, but I'd much prefer an occasional bad take by a comparatively moderate President over an overly-aggressive, ego-centric, revenge-thirsty President such as Trump.

Thought I'd leave this here as well, from the Trump Presidency Wikipedia page:

Trump is considered today as one of the worst Presidents across-the-board by experts on this kind of analysis.

If you don't understand why the USA, with extraordinary #'s of legal and illegal entries from foreign countries everyday compared to other countries, got hit fast and hardest with Covid early on, you don't understand the world in the big picture. Helsinki is not an apples-apples comparison with Miami, NYC, or Chicago. Couple that with gross mismanagement at the State level (ex. Cuomo, putting critical Covid patients in retirement homes), plus that if anything the US government OVERreacted in scaring the shit out of everyone, we were all our own worst enemies then. And more people died in the US from Covid during Biden's first year in office, despite having the vaccine which first started rolling out when Trump was still President, than died during 2020. The press just stopped talking about the death toll after Biden was elected.

You wanna know how unserious I know you and all Democrats really are about Covid, except to the extent it can be used as a political tool? Check out Bernie Sanders wearing a big blue mask all through the speech last night, then laughing it up and b.s.'ing with other commies after the speech, when he expected the cameras would no longer be on him, wearing no mask.

This is not a stance grounded in reality and is in fact misinformation that blames migrants. It's a pretty bigoted argument.

This also ignores the passage of time and cause and effect. 4k people died of covid on Biden's first day and we definitely saw record deaths those first 2 months. But they caught it during the Trump administration which didn't really do anything to minimize it.

Almost like Bernie has been in Congress long enough to know who is trustworthy/smart enough to have been vaccinated, and who isn't.

More assumptions just for the sake of lashing out. It's not about blaming anyone. It's about the # of people coming into and out of the airports in this country every day, and the mobility of people within US borders. Nothing compares to the US on those factors, and that's why Covid hit us fast and hard.

I never got Covid until summer 2022. How did I get it? I went to Disneyworld on vacation. Same principle, I got exposed to people all coming together from all over, in one place.

This argument is somewhat bizarre.
The U.S. had a rocky start to the pandemic primarily because the man with the single most influence over the country dismissed and minimized it. Compare this stance to, say, Germany, which took an immediate stance of lockdown, and you can clearly see how differently we could've had it had the people in charge taken a steadfast stance on it.
Instead, Trump rocked the country with doubt and division. Each state had their own laws, further subdivided by districts and even counties in some places. Religious organizations declared Covid to be from the Devil and refused to take precautionary actions, resulting in countless deaths and further spread of the virus. Trump's influence over the Evangelical crowd here cannot be dismissed as coincidence. Evangelicals are painfully easy to predict.
We were not united when we most needed to be. That's what it ultimately comes down to. Trump is at least partially to blame for our miserable defense against the pandemic.

I'm not the one making an assumption here. You're the one making the unsubstantiated claim that migrants are to blame, which quite frankly aligns with Nazi rhetoric.

If the comparison bothers you, you can choose to stop using their rhetoric.

COVID swept over the country quickly because the Trump administration was not prepared for any sort of national crisis. They had a higher turnover rate than a McDonald's in the bad part of town, and nobody who was hired or fired throughout was qualified for their positions.

Oh yeah, "Its the democrats' new hoax"

That was the moment most reasonable people knew the handling was going to be a shit show. And it was.

Almost like Bernie has been in Congress long enough to know who is trustworthy/smart enough to have been vaccinated, and who isn't.

Then why wear the mask at all? It was theater, and he's a hypocrite. And so is everyone who points at Trump as the sole villain of Covid, and ignores Fauci's perjury about his involvement and knowledge on gain of function research and funding, or that Biden promised to "end it" if elected, but people just kept dying. What did Biden do to respond to Covid that was any different? Just told everyone to get vaccinated, with the vaccine that was developed and fast-tracked while Trump was President. The reality is only time was going to get us to the end of Covid. Sweden had the lowest per capital death rate in Europe, and they basically did nothing about it, just let the virus run its course
