The 2A was put in place so that if needed, The People could be able to keep the Government in check, and to also be able to fight back against Threats, either Foreign or Domestic. Also notice the Declaration of Independence part where (to sum it up), if ANY form of Government goes against The People, then The People then have a Duty and a Right to go against that Government.

Tell that to the Founders who wrote it. They wanted to make sure that The People could keep our own Government in Check, not overreaching their Authority, not trying to go against The People, not stripping us of our Rights and Freedoms, and if there were to be any Threats to our Country, Rights, Freedoms, either Foreign, or Domestic, The People could be able to help Fight Back.
Prime example - Ukraine. They had the Right to Weapons, then for some reason, the Government told their People to turn them all in. Then when they were Defenseless, and the People could not Fight Back, Russia showed up. Now look at what Ukraine is doing. Arming The People. Probably would not have had that problem if the People had been able to keep their Arms.

Plus, the 2A of the United States would make the Government think like this - Hey, if we go against The People, they could go against us. Hence why they are now trying to slowly strip us of that Right. Even by now throwing around the excuse, "Rights are not Guaranteed, or Absolute." That sounds like they are saying, "All we have to do is make some BS excuse reason, and we can Violate your Rights however we want, if it fits into our Agenda." Which is pretty much how it is here for both Left and Right. If it fits into their Agenda, of what they are wanting, you are Violating their Right/s. But if it does not, no, that is Illegal, you cannot do that, even if you are doing the exact same thing they are doing, or less. Figure that out.

It was VERY obvious the Bush Administration lied about Iraq. Before 9-11, there was a Report about Millions of Government Funds going "Missing", and they were going to have an Investigation. Then 9-11 happened, and you never heard about it again.
Bush Administration also took Money out of Social Security, which was supposed to be returned toward the end of the Trump Administration.......which if I am correct......was never done.

They were Arming Civilians due to tensions with Russia. But the People were not all Armed when Russia Invaded. Now, Ukraine is able to hold their own, but it seems the US is pouring so much Money to them when we have People here like Homeless, Elderly, Disabled, especially Vets who could use it.

I was in the Army at that point, and was a Mechanic. But ok, what should we have done?????

Well that has pretty much already worked out for the government wrt: the 4th Amendment (the "war on drugs" has been used as a multitool to strip the peoples' right against unreasonable, warrantless searches to the point that Congress just renewed a law ok-ing warrantless searches right out in the open, and nobody bats an eye).

And it's an ongoing effort, an accelerating one at that, with the 1st Amendment. "Free speech" is practically a dirty word with some Americans today.
