it cools better( http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/lga-1156-heatsink,2535-14.html ), its cheaper, uses a larger fan and accepts standard 120mm replacement fans (the freezer 7 is using a custom made fan), and includes a spare set of brackets if you want to add a second 120mm fan
