Must...ignore...comment...but...cannot...

Yeah, show me where NSMB had an installment every year.

And show me the part where NSMBU is exactly the same as the others.

And if Nintendo Land's boring, how would ONLINE make it better?

Gah, I failed to keep my promise...

Totally with the exception of completely new levels, changed art-style, new worlds, new power-ups. Yeah it definitely is.

Call of Duty comes out every year. New Super Mario Bros. comes out once every system.

We are getting 2 NSMB games in a year, that's even worse than CoD

We're getting two almost entirely different NSMB games on two different consoles, in a series that won't have another installment in 5-6 years. Truly that's worse than having an installment every year!

At least they have good graphics, what can I say about NSMB2?

You could say, it has good graphics, because, you know, it DOES?

You could say, it has good graphics, because, you know, it DOES?

NSMB2 graphics are really bad,
it lacks originality, innovation.
It gives the sensation of playing the same game as the first NSMB over and over again.
Sometimes it's even hard to say it's not the same game as the first.

NSMB2 should be delayed, then it could have being done by Nintendo's team A,
and could receive propper soundtracks, graphics, and all the stuff it dserved.

Most textures, models and music are from NSMB DS and a few from Wii.
The game is repetitive and looks unfinished.

1) Borrowing from another game DOESN'T MAKE THE GRAPHICS LOOK CRAPPY.

2) If you can't tell the difference between the DS and Wii game (because you seem to think that almost everything was borrowed from the DS game, even though that isn't close to the case), I don't think you're judging it correctly.

Now that I looked at the new pics, I must say that this game is looking more promising. Still, I think that Nintendo should take a step further by switching from prerendered graphics to true 3D graphics. Other than that, I should start saving for the WiiU.

NSMB2 was definitely rushed and unnecessary, it still has a level of quality to it compared to other titles but the only reason it exists is so that there is a 3DS NSMB and to rake in millions. They should have put it out next year instead and spent more time on it.

If Nintendo stick to their word of one NSMB game per console then the WiiU game would be the last one until the next handheld, I think they will stick to their word, I mean they could have easily put out more on DS/Wii shit they could put one out on both now and they'll still sell well on those dead formats.

It'll be interesting to see what Nintendo do with the plattforming Mario series, we've had at least one a year since Galaxy 2 and I guess the Wii U will have the next 3D Mario next year and 3DS will have another one (or just 3D Land 2...though I really hope they don't). Personally I'd love to see a PROPER New Mario Land game, one that has the same kind of gameplay, worlds and enemies as the first two on the GB. It could even become the "2D art Mario" series.

I don't know what's gotten into me. I am suddenly dying on the inside waiting for the Wii U.
I swear I hated it about 5 minutes ago...

Your Dieing?! try going to the Wii U Experience and play the Wii U for an Hour and a Half than head home with nothing to show for it lol, I'm going through with drawl LMAO...I want my Wii NOW!!! @_@

The Manager at Gamestop is saying that the system is gonna launch on Nov 11th and will have three flavors like the Xbox 360, in other words shes telling the employees that the system will come with different hard drive sizes!

I know what these managers are like, most of the time they rely on rumours rather than official word. I'd doubt there would be three different hard drive sizes, most likely is different packs like one would be bare bones Wii U, another includes Wiimote+nunchuck and another all of it plus Pro Controller.

Even if Nintendo announce on Sep 13th when the Wii U is being released, isn't that leaving it waaay too late if they plan on releasing in November? I don't really understand why they haven't given us a fixed date yet, unless they haven't known it because they're still developing. And I hope that's not the case because the last thing needed is for them to rush it out the door, yet you have to think if it's not out in time for Christmas they're gonna be in deep shit.

I'm not too bothered anyway, none of the games they've shown so far interest me enough to buy a whole new console. It's not like the Wii, where you had the innovation on one hand and fucking Zelda on the other. And fuck, remember how good Red Steel looked? That was pretty much it, of course, but it was enough... they still haven't officially shown off half the games that are rumoured to be in the works. Unless this conference is the greatest Nintendo conference ever, they've got a lot of work on their hands to make this gamer interested. And I would hazard a guess that many others feel the same.

ITP: Someone who didn't pay attention to the Wii's pre-launch.

Or even what the Wii U is getting before the year is out! Pikmin 3, ZombiU, NSMBU, Project-1000, Rayman Legends...most of those are launch titles and there's much much more. What did the Wii get? A port of a Zelda game that easily played better on the Gamecube, ExciteTruck which was flawed, Red Steel which was pretty crap and a lot of low grade ports and other titles that you'd wait until they were on sale for £10 to go along with it. To be honest only WarioWare & Wii Sports showed off the motion controls properly, Zelda: TP were tacked on. ZombiU makes fantastic use of the WiiU Gamepad, so do others.

There's some ports on the Wii U of course this time but they are of a lot more quality and have more effort put into them than the Wii had and they certainly make good use of the controller.

Honestly the stuff that have been confirmed so far for launch (not even including the ones confirmed for eShop) shows that this is one of the best console line ups Nintendo has had since the SNES.

i started reading through these posts and got bored of those throwing the negativity at nsmbu. Guess what the original flew off the shelves and became hugely popular and is praised by nostalgia nuts and new gamers alike because its simple and fun. And its a 2d mario which everyone was clammering for. The same will be said about the u version and I can tell you now it will be the biggest selling launch title regardless. Why? Because everyone that enjoyed the 1st one so much, me included will choose that over games like batman, assassins creed etc. Its a very relaxed game it requires little thought.

I have both rayman origins and nsmbwii, played the 1st one a few minutes and couldnt be bothered. Completed the 2nd. I mean nsmbu may not be a huge step forward, I see it as a filler til they come out will a proper new mario game but it is what is a good old fasioned fun nostalgia trip, which anyone from 2-92 could pick up and play. If you want games challenging then stick to your ps3's and 360's

Personally, what I would like to see is an entirely new direction for the next major 3D Mario platformer on Wii U (that is, not another Galaxy game), and then on the 3DS, they could release Super Mario Galaxy 3D, an entirely new Galaxy game. Since the gap between the kind of games handhelds and consoles can output is shrinking, I think it would be cool to use the Wii U for new, innovative triple A titles, and the 3DS for extensions of old favorites. This would allow to give "more of the same" for those who want it (and on the go, at that), while still making new innovative games for consoles.

I feel similarly about Metroid... I think that perhaps Metroid 3DS could be a game in vein to Other M (just not terrible) or Prime, while Metroid Wii U could be an entirely new kind of game.

The game does not look crappy because it borrowed textures and models from other games.
It looks crappy because it does not use the graphical power of 3DS the way it should.

Let's make a little comparisson.

NSMB DS

SM3DL (2D levels)

SM3DL shows an outstanding 2D for a 3D Mario,
it has good 3D effect and excellent graphics.

Seeing what SM3L done, I expected something a little bit better for NSMB2,
maybe it could look closer to the Wii version.

The graphics are really bad, but there are many things that make this game even worse.

It's not even in 3D. Games like Muttant Mudds and Mighty Switch Force proved that it's possible to have good 3D effects on a 2D platformer.
The boss of middle's castle is always Reznor, turning the game very repetitive.
There aren't any new power ups, just a variation of fire-flower
There aren't any of the power ups of Wii version.
There is no Yoshi or Baby Yoshi.
The bosses except for bowser are all variations of Bowser Jr.
There aren't any new music.
The secret paths are too predictable(ghost houses and castles)

With all that said, I can say it's the worst Mario platformer I ever played,
I trully regret buying this, and do not recommend it for anyone.

ha' you make me wanna re-purchase 3D Land again. The game has better graphics and gameplay than NSMB2. Skip over to 2:45 and you see the high poly bricks on the castle, with good lightening effect in the rain. Damn so good. They should have ripped assets from 3D Land not NSMB DS.
