I did nothing :P
Not my 3ds, it is from friend who asked me to install the CFW.
He says when try to open eshop, a message with an error code related to fraud is shown.
Don't know if is a NNID ban :(
If you don't have any content you want to keep on the console, format through system settings then see if you can get into the shop. What's the error code? (Just for my own curiosity)

if I buy a new 2DS will it be on a low enough FW to let me downgrade my New 3DS XL using the DSiware trick?

Also I assume that I won't be able to use my NNID on my N3DS afterwards? If so I'd rather just CFW the 2ds and leave it at that as a secondary system

afaik there are no 2ds that have been found to contain 11.0 out-of-the-box, and anything lower than that is exploitable. I mean there is always a first for it, but it's very unlikely.

You shouldn't be booting into decrypt9 through the browser, that's for lower firmwares. If you want decrypt9 to show up in the hb menu then you have to copy the decrypt9 folder (that contains the .3dsx file and .smdh file) into your 3ds folder.
i see. now if the guide was a little more clearer with that i wouldnt have had to ask. it was confusing. im on 9.2 firmware letting ya know.

so, got my n3ds, its a 9.8. one with dragonball extreme butoden installed.
doing a system format, put all the files for menuhax and downgrade on the sd.
wish me luck

ok, its verifying firmware files on first try, very good.

its installing... first cias are installed, still going, all on first try, i already saw myself starting sysdowngrader for 3 hours like the last time

...an error occured... fuck

only two black screens when booting up...

boot into home menu when sd is removed, resetting themes, trying browserhax again. installing new menuhax, then trying downgrade again
back to verifying.
lets hope things work out this time

seems to have gone through, native firm installed, rebooting in 10 seconds
yes, seems like i'm in a working home menu again!

ok, the hardest part is done, now comes the longest part. dumping nand and ctrnand transfering.

good, with everything done, i'm up to updating sysnand. takes surprisingly long, really thought the n3ds would be quicker with that stuff

Do you mean the Home menu Icon or the Banner on top screen?

Go to your pc and to the folder with the "Universal Inject Generator" and inside the folder "input" you'll have your original hs.app
Copy to you SD root (or maybe files9 folder) overwritting the one you have.

Try again and see if it's OK.

make one.
also, i'm generally unsure if you're actually updating anything here. if you have a9hl, you have a9hl.

this new guide just makes getting a9hl easier than the old guide did.

on a different topic, so far, everything seems to work for me, got a9hl, all the latest updates, did the system transfer and all my games are gone, will slowly start to get things back together.
i still got all those old game files in the Nintendo 3DS folder, just wanted to ask if those will be overwritten when i reinstall cias? or do i have to manually delete them?

also, since my old 3ds is now on a blank slate (but still with a9hl), can i just delete the nintendo 3ds folder on it? its just going to make a new one when i start it up again, right?

Thanks for the tip. When the guide says for me to overwrite any existing file do i need to delete all the bin file in my payload folder or do I just add the hourglass.bin file for step 3
