I'm on DSi using Flipnote Lenny. The problem I'm addressing has nothing to do with playing games using DSiMenu++ (since it works great for +95% of the games I tested) It's just a minor problem that forces me to reset the DSi (and do the Flipnote Exploit all over again) every time I save any settings on DSiMenu++. You should be fine playing Megaman ZX Advent since it is listed as compatible:

Hello again. I currently using your new DSimenu++ version 5.5.1, i'm playing on a Old 3DS with CFW. I finally found Gen 5 Pokémon ROMs with APfix. Here's what i have to say:
-Pokémon Platinum (U) works wonderfully, even traded with my NDS Lite using Pearl. Tested SoulSilver (U) and worked without that black screen, any freeze or glitches. The thing is, i don't even know if this SS ROM is AP patched, but it worked.
-Gen 5 Pokémon ROMs works with APfix, but they freeze for few seconds on overworld. Weirdly i never noticed this behavior while testing a all my clean ROMs for these games, both White and White 2 APfixed present this behavior. They don't freeze, they kinda of lag to load the graphics. Its not a issue with my SD, i'm using a Ultra SanDisk 32GB microSD Class 10. Tested with all ARM9 speeds, still the tiny freezing. My guess is every time those games have to load a new graphic, they just hang a little, even 2D sprites cause this, because this happens when the "!" and "?" appear on NPC's head. Guess the SD card slot isn't as fast as NDS' Slot 1, because i never had this problem on my NDS Lite using my R4 Revolution with Wood Kernel (using a old 2GB Kingston SDcard). Yes, did all the tests with my 3DS' SD, no problem. But it works, its just a little annoying. Again thanks for this HB app, saved me from getting another Flashcard for my 3DS.

Try patching it with the DS-Scene ROM tool. That's what I used to patch my copies and they are working just fine for me.

  • Overwrite the "_nds" folder, with the new one from the .7z file.
What's new?
  • nds-bootstrap v0.11.2 included!
  • VRAM boost, sound fix, and logging options added!
  • 3DS theme: Startup sound now plays when fading in.
Bug fix
  • DSi/3DS themes: Tearing artifacts when scrolling through games, and some other bugs have been fixed (thanks to @RonnChyran)!

Known bug
  • Reported by Dragios: "there is an issue of double (same) icon or wrong game icon display after soft reset. It seems to fetch the next game icon within the list."

@Robz8 in the OP, the instructions for 3DS with CFW say you need to copy boot.nds too, but it's not actually needed in that method and also gives the impression you can't have hbmenu and DSiMenu++ at the same time, which isn't true in this case

Both DSIMenu++ and DSIMenu Launcher are not appearing after I install their respective CIAs through FBI. I think the issue is related to region locking, but I'm on Luma 9.1 and I have 'game patching' enabled. Any ideas?
