i just recently bought a used x360 with a mod chip but without a HDD,, just bought a 1tb hdd and a casing
but what files needed in the new HDD?

it can boot fine, can go to xmb orig and xmb aurora.
just wondering what shall i do on the New HDD..

Dump the drive in and set up FSD or Aurora, whatever you prefer.

I've got a slightly outdated tutorial here but with a tiny bit of googling, you can get the up to date files like dashlaunch etc.
Also follow this one to make sure it's properly up to date.

yes correct,,,the xbox got no HDD when i bought it but has a modchip installed and has Aurora XMB on it when boot,
(its my second XBOX360 mod)

just wondering how to setup a fresh Hardrive,,

do i just format it on xbox360 XMB then its ok?,..

or can i dump my 1st xbox360 mod harddrive and installed it to 2nd xbox 360 Hardrive?

would it be fine?

You can format it with the system serial number, but you need to inject partition 2, which is the Xbox original emulator.

I think that's hdd partition fixer. It will create partition 2. This won't format the rest of the drive.
