the xenia wiki has the GTX 750 card listed as being compatible, and i can find one of these cards for about 70usd here, should i buy this or spend 200usd on a GTX1050 for future-proofing the ability to run xenia properly? (alot of xenia testers on youtube have atleast a GTX1080)

computer shops are hiking up prices for any graphics card that can be used for mining bitcoins, which included the mid-range ones.

i remember getting a geforce9800GT for the equivalent of 130usd back in 2009, it was a high end card that ran everything back then.

now they want me to pay 200usd for a GTX1050 from 2016.

i miss the old days.

.... Where are you located? I'm going to assume either China from your profile, or USA by your currency.

Cards are super cheap right now, the used market has flooded after the mining crash. You can easily get used 1050ti's for as low as $120, for a comparison I paid about $240 for a used 1060 3gb during the peak of the mining craze early last year, I can now get the same card for half the price. The only cards that have really held value are the low profile 1050/ti's because they are harder to find and serve a niche market for htpc and sff factor gaming builders.

It is for sure a good time to invest in a decent card whether your new to PC gaming, or just looking for an upgrade!

well i found a video of halo3 running on a GTX760

so it seems xenia runs fairly well on a lower mid-range card.

will probably wait for prices to go down for the gtx1050 a little more or get a used card as per your advice.

thanks for your help!
