How to get POPStarter via SMB to work in GitHub's OPL?

Have you had stuttering FMVs on POPStarter via SMB?
No but I have a good computer running it on a good network.
I imagine dedicated SMB router would perform just as well.
Also look into udpbd its fast.
I use SMB though it works just fine for me. There is also OPL Server or radhostclient, which are both lightweight PC programs to provide ethernet connectivity solutions as alternatives.

I tried running PS2 games in OPL via SMB with an external HDD connected to a nano router and it performed worse than OPL via SMB with games running from the PC.

I tried OPL via UDBPD but only with a PS2 game and it had a black screen. Does POPStarter support UDPBD? I thought it only supported USB, SMB and HDD.

Can OPL Server and radhostclient run SMB 1.0 without using the PC's?
