Heey guys,

I have an very important question. I can get some game files from an dev, this dev makes really fun games. Those games are not yet released though. He doesn't have an devkit yet so he can't let me play the game on his devkit yet.
Since the Wii U is partially hacked and can run retail discs. Is it possible to load and run games from a dev? The files are wumad files or download images. He could send me the .rpl and .rpx files too though.
I assume these files aren't signed yet.

So is this possible? As I understood that wumad is actually a .wud, or am I wrong?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Pikpol

I think a ".wud" is a made up file format (created by crediar?), for disc dumping tools.

.wumad is a download image, as you wrote, used for installing games to USB drives. You won't be able to install it for now.

I'm not sure but you can probaly get the rpl and rpx (and xml files?) and run it via Loadiine

Assuming dev and retail don't use different encryption like on every other console.

It probably will use different encryption. but on the other hand, if he would make an master build, wouldn't it be possible to get the files from that build and run it?
Though I can obtain the .rpl .rpx and xml files if I'm right.

After gathering some information and someone who helped me with this subject, I can confirm that we can run a game which was made with the Unity for Wii U build.

So we can participate in the Wii U developers program and obtain the tools necessary to develop our own games (or to port our excisting games).

So we can use Unity to develop 'homebrew' and Nintendo's web framework. We could actually make native Wii U apps and games

I think this is pretty amazing. And it only takes Loadiine to run the games. Maybe we could do even more with the upcoming IOSU exploit

I had the same question :D
Right now I've a wumad-file and a folder which contains .app-files, .h3-files, a .tik-file, .tmd-file and a .cert-file. (Tried to install them with WUP-Installer without luck).

Would be awesome to test this stuff on my Wii U :D

You should use the /content /code and /meta folders to run the game via loadiine

wud is not a made up format from crediar, it's a binary dump of existing media (Wii U optical disc).
It's named wud probably for Wii U Disc acronym, but the file could have been named .iso or .bin or .wiiu or .whateveryoulike, the important it what's inside. it's not a special format, just a copy of existing data.

I'm glad crediar added whitelist and blocked all other title to install. A lot of people would have their WiiU bricked by now by trying random things like that.

I meant it's not an official format.
Plus, remember the folder containing the ticket
First of all the folder "system" doesn't exist, I made it up to put the extracted files somewhere.
Also you can't mount that part in which those files are.

And the Wii U uses bluray-like 25GB discs, not DVDs :creep:

You could try to extract the app files via cdecrypt, but I don't think that'll work since you don't have the common key for dev units.

There are two kinds of files the Wii U uses for software; .wum (disk image, always 25GB) and .wumad (archive, no padding). As far as I know, the only existing file is .wud, probably short for "Wii U Disk". This archive contains the RPX, RPLs, and whatever other content, but all of it is encrypted with the universal retail Wii U key. Unless that key is obtained, or decryption is done on a retail Wii U that uses the same SDK, there's no way to obtain the RPX/RPL. Same goes with the Wii U dev kit, although I'm sure it's much easier to create a tool that does this on the dev kit.

That said, I've been doing some tests with decrypting a .wud to work on a dev kit. Nothing past the header information is decrypted yet.

correct and thank you :)

Did you set the build target to Master? If not, could you build a master build and post a pic with the created files?
Try the different build options. I think the download image option should be used and would result in build that should be installable.
Otherwise use the submission package option.

If nothing of the above works, then try to do every step in the guides for master submission. As I had to follow the guide to create the correct /code and /meta folders.

If nothing works, please PM me your content or project so I could take a look myself :)
Good luck!

I have some first party E3 demos in wumad format along with tickets, is there a way to properly decrypt / run these files at this time, or load them into CEMU? thanks!

So a man goes to the doctor because his boner wont go down. As he is laying in the hospital bed, with his thing propped up in the air, a fly is flying around and landing on the tip and bothering him, so he calls in the nurse. The nurse comes in, swats at the fly but can't quite reach it, so she climbs his boner to get better aim. After a few tries of swatting and sliding back down, she says sorry I cant get it. He says keep going, a few more tries, and I can shoot the fly down.
