October's gaming season for new releases is up ahead, and with it comes the rumours and leaks which are inherently tied to any new big release for AAA titles, and this time it hit two of the biggest gaming mascots in the industry, Sonic & Mario.

Several sources have started to sprout out about a confirmed leaked copy of Sonic Superstars for Switch almost one week ahead of release breaking its street date, and in Mario's case, it seems like the leaked copy that's floating around is the actual Switch demo that's been shared around through selected retailers, like Best Buy, GameStop, Target, & Walmart.

Update: The Mario demo leak is a confirmed hoax and as yet the game has not broken street date.

Update 2: Super Mario Wonder has now leaked ahead of its 20th October release date.

There's rumours about the actual full Super Mario Wonder game also being leaked, but it has yet to be confirmed.

People that want any roms just google. Its so easy to find roms for the Switch its surprising that Nintendo don't take down those sites.

I wanna know why Yuzu always are a bit after Ryujinx. I guess Yuzu are more HLE (High Level Emulation) than Ryujinx.

Yuzu could also be using some tricks that sacrifice accuracy for speed as high accuracy is always harder to do and do properly. As an extreme example, there is an extremely accurate NES emulator called MetalNES (to the point the last commit says "added 74HC04 inverter") but even the fastest computers will take several minutes per frame and there is no MMU/mapper support at all yet.

Then your Google-Fu isn't update to date. It's super easy to find if you use the most common search words for Switch "roms".

I'm sorry, but I really can't help with words. XCI files (cartridge dumps) and NSP (digital dumps mostly) aren't hard to find.

yeah ive been around for years on gbatemp was a lurker back when it was more of a piracy site and i got the gist of the rules when it all changed actually made an account in 2010 i know what an xci and nsp are i just dont know what sites to trust obviously im not gonna open an exe or bat files ill just search for trusted sites etc thanks

oh by the way Sonic Superstar in docked mode on bigger screen, though apparently technically in 1080p, is so boatloaded aliased and poor res texture, it looks like an amateur dev unity project running in 720p in lowest settings.

The characters don’t look like characters in a game, they move and look like graphical 3d assets planted on top of a side scrolling 2.5D level. It feels like a low effort demo than a finished game. Also, the speed powerup seems to litterally speed up the normal music and introducing some horrible sound artifacts… the lighting is also crap. the character doesn’t project a shadow… (I was trying to understand why this version looks so crappy compared to the trailer). The other consoles have their background blurred, not the switch version.

Such a shame. I’m finding lots of little details which seems to point to some low budget and a rushed release

SMW on the other hand, in docked mode, looks fucking glorious compared to Sonic Superstar.

edit: i’ll give you that the jungle 1 ost is pretty awesome

yeah I thought I was the only one that noticed the jagged edges on textures etc opposed to super mario wonder being all smooth. still, I like both games. I'm bout to go on a trip and bringing em with me on a lite.
