DOOM lands on Nintendo Switch on November 10

Bethesda won't be keeping Nintendo fans waiting long, as their upcoming Switch port of DOOM will be hitting the eShop and stores on November 10, 2017. Company 'Panic Button' (who is also working on a Rocket League Switch port) will be in charge of getting the game running on Nintendo's latest piece of hardware. DOOM will run at 30fps on the Switch, and suffer some graphical compromises, but going off of footage from id Software, it appears that the game will retain its lighting system. This game is the first of Bethesda Softwork's upcoming partnership with Nintendo, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus releasing later this holiday, and 2018, respectively.

I personally have only played La Noire and Skyrim before. I diddnt like Skyrim and La Noire was Meh imo. Doom looks awesome tho.
Honestly, Switch is having a fantastic launch year. Definitely the best launch year I've seen for a console. In a broader scope, 2017 has been a great year for games and it seems 2018 is gearing up to be even greater.

Honestly, Switch is having a fantastic launch year. Definitely the best launch year I've seen for a console. In a broader scope, 2017 has been a great year for games and it seems 2018 is gearing up to be even greater.

And I am pretty certain XboX cannot manage 4k Ultra 60.

And what gain is there to mention one consoles resolution that the beloved one your trying to defend cant even run at 1080p

fanboys are amusing.

XBOX cant run in 4k... yet it has games that upscale to 4k.... but erm tell me one switch title that runs above 1080p..... NONE and will it ever NOPE!

I originally criticized Nintendo's decision to launch the Switch in March and space out game releases, but honestly I change my mind completely. Switch dominated the news cycle uncontested for months, and the steady drip of quality games has ensured each one gets its time to shine (and sell!). Plus, each major game release was the perfect opportunity to throw Switch back into the news and advertisements. On a relevant note, I think it also helped them keep up with supply, haha. Imagine having released the Switch during the holidays with the paltry supply they had in March. At any rate, glad to see their strategy worked out and that Big N is back in the game. This industry's always better with strong competition.

If you consider the fake "checkerboard" 4K, then yes. Rendering 4K at 60 fps takes tremendous CPU and GPU power to do well.

Yes, but not to the same degree as two RX 580 in crossfire, or a rx vega. But then those games might not be as fun or convenient as the switch. And it's mostly first party that will have it, while other games will resort to upscaled 2k or 1080p.

Point still stands that 100 fps is unnecessary and looks weird as hell. 30 and 60 fps look more natural, 100 fps looks like those weird Spanish soap operas. Why the hell would people want 100 fps?

Ask the competitive scene. I'm loving the smoothness and precision with the higher FPS. Casuals don't quite get it and that's fine.
