360 E..
Depends on the motherboard.
Winchesters are unhackable.
Corona v5/v6 are more expensive (SD dumper, POST fix adapter)

Phatties just need a JR programmer or LPT NAND dumper and a glitchchip.
I recommend a JR Programmer, you can program the glitchchip as well.

Okay then. Yeah, both of mine are phat models, but chances are I'd only mod one of them now this way.

If it has a manufactured date of August 2014 or later, it’s probably a Winchester board and not hackable. In any way. MS eliminated the POST out signal at the CPU(yellow wire for RGH) and there’s no way to dump the DVD key for that disc drive. If it has an earlier manufactured date, it’s a corona v5 or v6 and May have winbond memory. I’d get a CR4 for that tbh.

Assuming I do go that route, what is a ballpark price for one of those? And what else would i need to get to mod the phat systems?

A CR4 XL/CR3 or a Ace V3.
As for the price.
Idk, several USD below the retail?

0800 drives allow Xbox Backup Creator to create a backup of the disc.
Xbox Backup Creator is a PC application unfortunately.
Yeah I figured that out thank you I just wish the 0800 would work for the hachi drives I have one of those in an old 360 without hdmi

Unfortunately no.
Getting a 0800 compatible drive or just getting the ISOs from the web is the only solution then.
Or using your main drive as a temp 0800 drive ;p

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most manufacturers pack it well enough where they aren't that dumb to let it happen

Is crazy to think, you used to be able to build a decent PC for $300-400. Those days are way gone.
