This does have touch controls. This is an engine port for the 3DS, DSQuake is an engine port for the DS... Same game different engines
ok thanks, this is great! just have to get my 11.1.0.35 3ds hacked!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Has anyone gotten the Half life 0.52 alpha to work on Ctrquake? http://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-alpha/downloads/half-life-alpha1 Really cool, even on PC. Has singleplayer mode as well (HINT : type " map c1a1 " in console!)

Hey, fantastic work mate, love the port and everything you guys have done for it.

I can't seem to get any of the mods to boot correctly, it just boots the main game and I would like to replay through the expansions and the new dopa expansion on the 3DS.
The xml is set out like so and is in the /3ds folder and boots the game just only the main game not the mod. :(

I've tried booting from 9.2 and in 11.2 (my current emunand) but still no luck.

<shortcut>
<name>Quake Scourge of Armagon</name>
<executable>/3ds/ctrQuake/ctrQuake.3dsx</executable>
<arg>-game hipnotic</arg>
</shortcut>

Running O3DS 9.2 + 11.2 Luma3DS EMUnand

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers guys!

EDIT:
Before anyone asks, the folders are placed in the ctrQuake folder in /3ds next to the id1 folder and I have the correct pak files taken straight from steam.

Are you using mashers gridlauncher by any chance? If you do, try the homebrew launcher by smea.
Gridlauncher doesn't pass the arguments correctly. Everything else seems fine.

No I don't, I just use the ctrBootManager in conjunction with HomeMenuHax which redirects to Smea's launcher. However that reminds me, I haven't tried copying over a recent fresh version of Smea's homebrew kit. It may do the trick. Hell might as well try a fresh copy of the quake files too might work.

EDIT: It was the homebrew launcher, I was using an outdated one, downloaded the latest version and away it went. Cheers guys. Have a good one.

Does this support the circle pad pro? I thought it used to but I may have been mistaken.
It's stated in the source code of ctrquake that the circlepadpro is not supported since support for it hasn't been added to libctru at the time of the last commit. IDK if it has been added by now.

Hello~!
After little-to-none problems, with answers within this topic I was able to turn the game on.
So far it seems nice, just one thing. Is there some "default" config file for the keys or will I have to set them up manually?
After that I will frag them all in the name of MasterFeizz :D

I does have a default config, but you can always configure the game to your liking.

I use AKG K7XX headphones for daily use, but Meze 99 Classics when I want to *enjoy* the music

I mean built in sound on mobo's has gotten way better but still XP handled sound better and X-Fi was still better than onboard audio even to this day

Hell not sure what was going on but for like a few weeks MP3's sounded muffled, some driver or Windows update fixed it. Thank god lol

Oh boy Massdrop has $1100 IEMs. Want, but not at that price lmao. https://drop.com/buy/campfire-audio-andromeda-emerald-sea-iem

I'd sooner buy the Meze 109 Pro if I was dropping that much on headphones. I don't even like buds/IEMs
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I got the Google Pixel Pro buds, they're good enough for when I need portable audio. And some really cheap IEMs that Dankpods recommends, I think the KZ ZSN Pro
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'd stick with cheapo Chinese $10 ones quality is actually becoming on pair with name brand since name Brand usually quads the price up anyway loose one bud that's another $200
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
My Pixel Pro buds shit the bed a month or two ago. My wireless charger (which they do support Qi charging) absolutely COOKED them. Caused some problem that caused the case to heat up to 180F+
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
They were like 9 months out of warranty but I hit up Google support anyway and told them how hot they were getting and they replaced them with new ones because they wanted these for failure analysis lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    lol wireless charging
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why I can't bring myself to even spend $100 on wireless earbuds
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it's a cool idea but damn
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Apparently the case has a problem with >15W wireless chargers. Google design fault, that one.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I could live with wireless charging if the damn standard case doesn't block connection
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    how is wireless charging possible?

you mean generally, how does the concept work?

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Copper conducting electricity or something
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Xdqwerty, power through a coil of wire causes an electromagnetic field to be generated. Another coil of wire can be set up to harness the power from that electromagnetic field and turn it into usable energy for charging a device

Two good videos from ElectroBOOM that touch on the subject:
