most phones use ubc c too.Just saw this on my twitter feed. I guess this will require a USB C to micro USB cable, rather than the traditional cable you get.
I had no problems. I installed Ubuntu 17.10 on mine just fine. WiFi didn't work for me out of the box so I installed the drivers for the Marvel chipset found here: https://pastebin.com/aBLHBFakIf you succeed let me know what you did, I wanted to put Linux on my old surface pro 2 but apparently you can't get wireless or the touch type keyboard to work.

yeah forgott to add most recent phones.Er...no they don't. By far the majority are still using microUSB. Type C is just now starting to be a thing with midrange phones, it was up till recently reserved for high end flagship phones.
