The Switch already has terrible heat dissipation. Nintendo implemented overclocking in order to more quickly damage original (hackable) consoles. Their new upcoming switches will handle the higher clocks without any issues. I don't plan on overclocking my switch. If you want better frame rates then go play on a PC.
I don't think Nintendo OC will affect it much since its mostly for the loading game... I mean I never heard my Switch ever going loud while loading any game, also while loading if it goes like on PC gaming, most of the times the GPU\CPU utilisation will be very low so even OC won't probably produce much heat as I think it won't be using much of the SOC...
Now a full OC yes, keeping high clocks will make components hotter, pushing more wattage and so on, but I think who is going to OC also most likely already did cooling improvements or plan to do...
I would definitely like trying OC, but I will fully mod my Switch, planning to buy Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and cool everything, I'm even planning to buy copper sheets and add them to every god damn big chip inside the switch like I did on my X360, but in there I used small memory coolers, its a Falcon which has heat problems, but its still alive and super cold with 2 extra fans added and a custom air tunnel that I made for maximum air pressure for the GPU cooler only...
However I still haven't opened up my Switch, only the controller to add a ON\OFF button below it for RCM and jeez almost couldnt find a button to fit inside the sucker, though I had the perfect one but it just got in pieced all over my hands when removing it from a micro RC heli...
I'm hopping I can find space to put some copper in it, I wish someone would also make a custom full copper CNC cooler for it like I bought a cheap one from a guy I met in a forum that made one cheap for my laptop (though I bought the cheap aluminum one not the full copper that he also made, but was to add above the original cooler so it will always improve cooling and was specially made for that exact laptop with maximum size exploited, he made quite a lot of different testing prototypes until he could make the final one and I paid only like 15€ or so). The laptop also have a custom Bios and support OC, with the added cooler, bottom cover removed and on a laptop base with a huge fan that I bought from thermaltake it can OC quite a lot specially on the old Nvidia, though I didn't risk finding max clocks on it and also power supply wattage is limited though I had to upgrade the power supply before buying the laptop since I chose a high power Intel I7 that requires more power...

heh
I didn’t get into console modding until the around the 3ds era, so I can’t say much about them in the xbox days personally
luckily both of those things are coming soon
It would be great if whateve new system is coming out was hackable, but Nintendo has really uped their security, current ipatched systems are already unhackable on 8.0+, and the exploit chain for <=7.0.1 partially relies on a bootrom exploit that’ll probably be fixed :/
My friend had to use a Xecuter chip on his Xbox, the softmod failed which we already knew it would probably fail since if I remember well only the HDD with a rubber X on it would allow hotswapping on the PC for the softmod, the others just kept burning after hot plugging them...
XBMC was the best thing ever done to any kind of console EVER, really miss something like XBMC on a newer good hardware console its like a full OS packed with all goodies and still looking very amazing as just a console menu, though nowadays their latest stuff called Kodi I don't think it looks any good (And no, they are not related to team Xecuter, but team xecuter was rocking back in the day with nice hardware stuff for the console like the LCD panel connected to the Xecuter chip).
This thing looks amazing:
(Not my Xbox, mine I painted all red and black and the Xbox symbol in blue).
